Programs for schools

Programs for schools or how to get acquainted with the Cold War in a fun and interactive way?! The history of Czechoslovakia, the threat of a nuclear conflict between East and West, historical technologies… Pupils and students will experience all this firsthand.

Programs for schools and other collectives

For schools, camps or other children’s and student groups, we offer the following types of tours. They correspond to the age of visitors and are a suitable supplement to classic teaching or to diversify a camp or other event for children (adolescents).

Historical-historical tour

The historical tour is a unique opportunity for pupils and students of all ages to get up close and personal with the period realities of the Cold War in Czechoslovakia. In this way, the Přáslavice bunker is opened to young generations as a living artefact of the Cold War period.

The tour focuses on the interpretation of the historical context and geopolitical situation during the Cold War in relation to objects such as ours. But we don’t go into too many technical and technological details.

The program is ideal as a supplement to history, civics and other subjects where recent history is discussed.

Historical-technical tour

What were the possibilities of communication for the countries of the former Warsaw Pact during the Cold War?

The historical-technical tour is intended for those interested in technology and technology. During it, we focus on explaining the functioning of historical technologies. Both telecommunications and energy and life-sustaining technologies.

Why were the hardened bunkers built? What are their parts? What was their function?

The program is more technical and is ideal for inclusion in the teaching of technical subjects, documenting the difference between past and current technologies.

The programs are designed to appeal to a wide range of visitor age groups. From elementary schools to high school students. The guides, who have a wealth of knowledge of the history and technology in the bunker, explain and demonstrate everything in a clear way.

Our goal is to make this learning experience not only informative but memorable for participants.

We also offer an extensive experience program Fateful Hour. Here, the participants will experience first-hand the escalation of the nuclear conflict and have to deal with the situation. The Fateful Hour program is implemented in cooperation with the Fortress of Knowledge.

Visit to an aquaponic farm

Aquaponics is a way to grow plants and keep fish together in one system. Think of it as a special garden where plants and fish work together to support each other.

Aquaponics “produces” food in a smaller space and saves water. In cities or where there is not much space for large gardens, it can be a good solution for growing fresh plants and vegetables.

A tour of our aquaponic farm, which has been successfully operating in the interior of the Přáslavice bunker for several years, is a combination of theory and practice. It is a supplement to science subjects, as it shows the flows of nutrients in nature and explains a number of natural processes that pupils and students usually know only theoretically.

You can learn more about aquaponics on the website of the Aquaponic Farm Přáslavice, which has been operating commercially in this way since 2019 and produces both fish and vegetables.
